The *DVHOPT statement is an artifact used by DIRMAINT, and is ignored by the DIRECTXA command. As such, it's not really a part of the user directory entry.
Since it starts with a '*', it's ignored by DIRECTXA..I think it contains some checksum so that dirmaint can ensure the directory wasn't tempered with. (but it's a wild guess).
