Hi Saurabh,

From z/VM CP Planning and Administration, Chapter 17 Creating and
Updating a User Directory, under the OPTION statement we have:-

RMCHINFO

indicates that the specified virtual machine is authorized to access
real-machine configuration information, without regard to the virtual
machine's configuration. It should be used when OSA/SF (or any other
application that may require real machine configuration information) is
running under CMS. RMCHINFO should not be specified for guest operating
systems.

This looks like this could be a problem.

Peter

Subject: RMCSINFO in MVS Guest User Directory

Hello,
We are running MVS guest under z/VM. In the user directory of
one of the MVS guest, I found rmchinfo in the option line. I tried to
find the reason for having this statement in our user directory . But
somehow I couldn't able to find it .

00000 * * * Top of File * * *
00001 USER SYSB1 SYSB1 20G * *
00002 INCLUDE $volinks P
00003 option svc76vm rmchinfo quickdsp P
00004 CLASS G PP
00005 MAXSTORAGE 64G PP
00006 MACHINE ESA PP
00007 CPU 0 BASE NODEDICATE P
00008 CPU 1 NODEDICATE P
00009 CPU 2 NODEDICATE P
00010 CPU 3 NODEDICATE P
00011 CPU 4 NODEDICATE P
00012 CPU 5 NODEDICATE P
00013 CPU 6 NODEDICATE

Currently we are facing a issue with our MVS guest.
Some of the MVS guest crashing suddenly. I am thinking that, is there
any effect of putting rmchinfo statement .
                  Please suggest.
