I have five Icelandic's and one who has foundered on gree grass. We ahve a mediterranean climate here, rain in the winter and no rain from about May to November. Stella first foundered when whe was 14 in early January when the grass was short and greeen and again that May when it was still green but heading out. I kept her off the green grass after that and she had no more problems until she was about 20 and developed Cushings. She now has yearly bouts with laminitis but not from green grass. The others graze about 6-8 hours a day on the green grass and come in to a large lot at night.
