Hi Wanda, >>>Pam, did you see the video I sent in of Bersi the other day?
>>>He's got a nice ground covering saddle rack...and he's just a youngster. Bersi is a nice horse and has very natural gaits, has since a baby. I know what Pam is asking, it is one thing to show a nice relaxed loose rein when a horse is being ridden alone but when you are on the trail going with a group the horses get more forward. And yes you do have to pull on the reins sometimes - oh well - I think that the horses enjoy zipping along in a group. With a group of Icelandics you don't generally get the competitive kind of racing that you do when you add other breeds to the mix. There are some people who feel safest going slowly, that is okay, but I think it is also okay to faster and not feel guilty if your horse is not always in the perfect balance frame. We do see many more photos from this list of people just walking their horses or alone if going faster (harder to video horses in a group).
