Hoover was not young when we had our little breakthrough with him - he was a wild-caught bird who lived with another family until we got him. I think he was 10-12-ish when we got him. Any doubts I have would be related to the particulars of any given bird, not particularly age related. Mainly, I didn't want to give the impression that ALL birds can be potty trained. Maybe they can, but I don't want to mislead people about the mess. Parrots are wonderful - but they do come with some side "benefits" people should be aware of!
