I always watch the ears of the horse I'm riding, and I'll glance at the ears
of any horses I'm riding with, but I don't spend a lot of time comparing all
the ears at once.  I know that the horses I ride tend to have their ears
slightly - emphasize slightly - back, but then, anyone who has ridden with
me knows that I talk to my horses a lot.   I want them to stay aware that
I'm with them.  When I see their ears rotate back, I know they are thinking
about me.
