By Gary on the gaitedhorse list: This horse is doing something, but it is not an even two beat trot. In the show ring whether it be in the Morgan world or in the FOSH ring a horse which does not demonstrate the breed's gaits as described by their judging standards are excused from the ring. I have seen non gaited Morgans which were racking in a non gaited Morgan class being excused and I have seen Mountain horses excused from the ring for not doing their signature gait as appropriate for the class. I know what an extended trot is in the Morgan and it still is a very distinctive even two beat gait. Gary Seibert
