As for speeds. My grandson rides with a GPS sometimes. Hunter flat walks at 6 mph very eaily and just flows along. Juniors are required to ride with an adult sponsor at AERC rides and I had told Gabe I would sponsor him, but we wouldn't be riding fast. At one point, he was trotting and Hunter was racking, side by side across the Oregon high desert. It was glorious until Gabe looked at his GPS and said, "Oh Grandma, we need to slow down. We're going 12 mph." Hunter was no where near opened up. It was the rack equivalent of a working trot. I would NEVER ride 25 miles in any gait, even trot. Well, maybe walk, but it would take a very long time. Nancy
