it's hours spent riding/working with > your pony. It's still a lot. I just guestimated my hours. Not counting endurance rides, which I suppose would add hours in a hurry, I spend about 15 hours a week on each horse (maybe 20 on Hunter). That still only comes out to 780 hours a year.
