Hm, it's *possible* I suppose, although using 400M out of 4G, then suddenly 
exhausting the other 90%, seems a bit unlikely to me..

Happy to try that - I have plenty of disk on this thing.

There's no configured swap on the other Icinga instance on my identical server, 
and that's never said "cannot allocate memory"...

Okay, I'm trying that before adding swap, then - this is not yet a production 
machine (although it's supposed to be next week), so if I can get a definite 
diagnosis I'll be happier with that than just know "giving it some swap space 
made the problem go away".
