You could always just write a monitor that reports the delta in disk usage
... possibly recorded by mrtg/rrdtool or the like. Then alarm when the
number goes over some predefined threshold. I believe there is a sample of a
similar type of script in the "switch" example configs, packaged with
Icinga/Nagios -- specifically for monitoring the usage on a network port.
It's not a perfect copy, but should be easy enough to repurpose, I'd think.
(there are a few other packages out there, too, that will take historical
performance data and alarm based on thresholds, too - though there's no
reason you can't just do that under Icinga) Hope that somehow helps.
