A four-alarm fire started at app. 1:30 AM today at our home port, Morris Yacht & Beach Club, on City Island. The huge, former mansion, built circa 1896, was totally destroyed. Reportedly, fire officials have indicated that the cause of the fire is under investigation. Fortunately, no one was injured. I've been advised by a club officer that our boats were not damaged but I'm leaving shortly to visit the site and will report back later.
