Notice of Race 
60th Annual Timme Angsten Memorial Regatta  
November 24, 25 and 26, 2006 
Chicago Yacht Club, Monroe  Harbor

1. RULES 
The regatta will be governed by the 2005-2008 Racing  Rules of Sailing (RRS); 
the prescriptions of the United States Sailing  Association (US SAILING); and 
the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA)  Procedural Rules for 
Intercollegiate Sailing Competition, (Fall 2005 - Spring  2008), and the 2006 
Collegiate Dinghy Class Rules, except as any of these are  altered by the 
sailing 
instructions. 


2. ALTERATIONS of the RACING  RULES 
The racing rules will be modified in accordance with the ICSA  Procedural 
Rules and RRS 86.1, as indicated in the Sailing  Instructions.


3. ELIGIBILITY and ENTRY 
3.1 Eligibility for  colleges and individuals will be as required by ICSA and 
outlined in the ICSA  Procedural Rules. 
3.2 The defending champion is invited. The MCSA is invited  to enter eight 
teams. In addition, SAISA, MAISA, NEISA, SEISA, NWICYRA and  PCIYRA are each 
invited to send one team. CYC will work through ICSA to select  additional 
teams 
to a total of 18 teams. Schools wishing to be considered for  entry should 
contact the ICSA Intersectional Regatta Coordinator or the Regatta  Chairman. 


4. FEES and REQUIREMENTS 
4.1 The meal fees for the  regatta is $240.00 per team and includes four meal 
packages (2 breakfasts, 3  lunches and the Saturday night Dinner/Dance). 
Additional meal packages are  available to competitors and coaches for $60.00 
each, or meal tickets can be  purchased separately. Receipts will be issued as 
requested. 
4.2 Each team is  required to bring enough clothing and equipment for four 
people to be properly  attired for the conditions for sailing at one time, 
including four US Coast  Guard approved 
(Type 3) Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs). The PFDs must be  available for 
inspection at registration.  Drysuits are recommended.

5. SCHEDULE  of EVENTS 
5.1 All regatta events will take place at the Monroe Station of  Chicago 
Yacht Club. 
5.2 The skippers meeting will be held at 1230 CST on  Friday, November 24, 
2006. Racing will begin immediately following the skippers  meeting. 
5.3 No race will be started after sunset on any day and no A  Division race 
will be started after 1430 CST on Sunday, unless posted otherwise  on the 
official notice board.  Any  change in the schedule of races will be posted by 
10:00 AM CST Friday November  24. 
5.4 A round robin will be sailed, with each school sailing each boat  twice. 
Each division of each school will sail the same boat for two races in a  row, 
and then the other division will race the next boat in the rotation. Racing  
will continue until the round robin is complete, or the deadlines are reached,  
whichever occurs first. 


6.  REGISTRATION 
Preregistration  packages will be sent by e-mail, and should be returned 
immediately.  Registration will take place Friday, November 24, 2006, at 1130  
CST. 

7.  HOUSING 
Housing information will be provided upon receipt of preregistration  package.


8.  SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 
The Sailing Instructions will be available at  registration. 
9. SCORING and ALTERNATIVE PENALTIES  
Scoring and alternative penalties will be as prescribed by  ICSA. 
10. SUPPORT  BOATS 
Support, Race Committee and safety boats will be provided by CYC.  Additional 
boats are not allowed. Spectators my view the races from the  clubhouse. 


11. PRIZES 
Prizes will be awarded on Sunday, November  26, 2006, shortly after the day's 
racing. Attendance is  mandatory. 
11.1 The  Timme Angsten Regatta Bowl is awarded to the winning team. This 
perpetual trophy  is maintained by the winning team and is to be returned to 
CYC 
at the next  Angsten event. 
11.2 Prizes will be awarded to each member of the teams  placing first, 
second and third in the regatta. Prizes will also be awarded to  the first, 
second 
and third place teams in each division. 
11.3 The  Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association (MCSA)  awards a permanent 
trophy to the best placing MCSA school. 
11.4 A brass  spittoon is traditionally awarded to the victors of an informal 
team race  between Chicago Yacht Club members and an all-star college team.
