FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday morning the Jack Wood competitors were greeted with a foggy, glassy
Mascoma which inspired little hope for improvement. However, a steady 10-15 kt.
SW breeze filled and three full sets were completed in great conditions. There
was a fourth A set held in the fizzling out of that breeze.
Sunday morning looked as promising as yesterday at that time. Again though, the
breeze filled seemingly out of nowhere. This time, it was less strong from the
West at about 6 kt. Conditions remained changing through the day, challenging
the race committee to make good and fair decisions. In the end, two sets were
held in A and three in B in a breeze shifting between west and northwest. There
was one breakdown request denied and one competitor retired after a finish.
Thanks to all who came to the beautiful Mascoma. Extra thanks to all of the
Dartmouth Sailing Team members who helped run the event. Thanks to Todd
Whitehead, Erik Johnson, and Paul Durkee for judging. Finally, congradulations
to HWS for a well sailed event.
