REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
SASTURDAY
Moderate winds at the beginning of the day increasing to 18-22 knots as
Saturday went on. There were several capsizes and a few DNFs. The
University of Vermont did not show so there were 17 teams total. The
regatta ran smoothly and no protests were filed. The 10 races, most
windward leeward twice around with a gate, were each about 20 minutes
long. A few gold cup courses were also sailed. Rotations took place in
the basin.
SUNDAY
Moderate winds all day from the ENE shifting to NE in the 10-18knts
range. The shifty, puffy conditions made for great sailing in the 7
races today before all racing was completed by 2:30. The favorable
current resulted in multiple general recalls with one OCS. There was
one protest filed resulting in a DSQ for Navy. The courses today were
Gold Cups, Olympics and windward leeward with a gate.
