FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday:
Sunny skies and warm temps in the 70's greeted the sailors for Coed ACCs.
Teams sailed in a North/Northeast shifty breeze ranging from 7-11 mph.
Courses were W4 or W5 and lasted an average of 16-18 minutes. 8 A Races and
6 B Races were completed on Day 1. Sailing was tight due to the conditions and
resulted in 1 protest being filed and 1 boat being disqualified. There were
no
breakdowns. While on the beach the off division enjoyed the Yellow Bikes and
the
sunshine and all the sailors attended the cookout which ended a perfect day of
racing.
Sunday:
Another perfect weather day. Winds started light in the morning and built to a
steady breeze
for most of the day. Winds were ENE 8-12 with some shifty conditions late in
the day.
B Division started the day and 13 races were completed. Courses were W4 and W5
and averaged 18-22 minutes throughout the day. No breakdowns were reported and
1 protest was heard resulting in 1 DSQ.
Thanks to the Eckerd sailors, Search and Rescue, the Waterfront Rec Staff and
Harken for the cool gear.
In addition, thanks to our Judges Ann Newton, David and Barbara Shaffer and
Sarah Beth Reeves for their work. The Judges would also like to congratulate
the competitors on a well sailed event.
Congrats to the Boston College Eagles on their Coed ACC Championship.
