John Jackson Memorial Team Race Regatta
Georgetown University
March 2, 2008

One round robin was completed on Sunday. Racing today featured the top four
teams from the qualifying rounds at Navy and Georgetown. Racing started out
with a light and shifty WNW wind which ended up shifting to the East and
filling in to about 5-8mph. Competitors raced in 18 FJ's with full colored
sails and 6 420's. Thanks to our umpires for volunteering their time this
weekend to make sure the racing was both fun and fair. Judges on Sunday
were Jeff Borland, Christine Accettella, Dave Pyron, Matt Jones, Andrew
Cole.

The John Jackson Regatta is named after John T. Jackson Georgetown Class '03
who was a member of the sailing team while at Georgetown. John passed away
in a tragic accident in Chicago the summer after he graduated. This is the
fifth year of the John Jackson Regatta and first year of the dual format
between Navy and Georgetown.
