REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Sat:
Beautiful day with no wind and a massive line of pollen on the water until
2pm.
Racing started in a light Southerly that died off. An Easterly filled late
in the day which provided some nice racing. Last race finished at 6:45pm.
Impressive job by Navy¹s Charlotte Hill and Kristen Sprout with all bullets
in tough conditions to help propel Navy to the top of the scoreboard as we
head into Sunday.
Sun:
Easterly winds were shifty and velocity was all over the place as storm
cells rumbled by.
Unfortunately, racing had to be postponed after race 7B for about an hour
while lightning and a fierce down pour prevented competition.
VERY TIGHT competition amongst the top five teams as ODU made a late charge
especially in B division where Steph Roble and Jaci Finnly dominated the
starting line.
Congratulations to Hobart William Smith on sailing a fantastic event!
Hobart William Smith, Navy, St. Mary¹s and Georgetown qualify for nationals
at Salve Regina and Brown Universities May 26-28.
