The Women's International Match Racing Association and North U are
continuing their series of introductory clinics in 2008. The North
American schedule has been published with more venues throughout
the world being added soon.
The clinics are designed to increase participation in women's match
racing by bringing in some of the sport's best champions, including
Liz Baylis, Dave Perry and Katie Spithill, to share their expertise
with the growing group of women's sailors looking to win in match
racing.
The following dates and North American venues have been confirmed:
. May 9-11 - Indian River YC, Cocoa, Florida
. May 23-25 - Rochester YC, Rochester, New York
. June 6-8 - Sail Sheboygan, Sheboygan, Wisconsin
. June 20-22 - Milwaukee YC, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
More dates and venues are being added, so please check the WIMRA
web site (http://www.wimra.org/clinics.asp) for additional
information.
The Match Racing Clinic Curriculum was created by Dave Perry and
Liz Baylis with assistance from North U. The course combines shore-
side sessions with on the water drills and races. The clinics are
targeted to racing sailors. Prior match racing experience is not
required. The clinics will be non-spinnaker.
Full information, curriculum and registration details will be
available on the WIMRA web site: http://www.wimra.org/clinics.asp
or the North U web site: http://www.northu.com/
