Day 1 highlights: Wacky conditions on the Thames River where
consistency was nearly impossible. Breeze was
southwest/west/northwest at 0-8 knots all day making the race
committee's job very difficult. 6 races in both divisions were
completed sailing course 4's and 5's. Two protests were heard
resulting in two DSQ's. One rule 42 violation on the water resulting
in a two turns penalty. Thank you to our judges George Crocker, Sue
Epstein and Jamie Gilman for monitoring rule 42 and hearing protests.
Also, a big thanks to all the Coast Guard cadets who were picking up
