REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
On Saturday, racing was postponed until about 1:00pm due to light and
shifty winds. When it filled in, the wind was out of the South-
Southwest
at 0-5 knots earlier in the day building to 5-8 knots. The race
committee
ran modified Windward / Leewards once and twice around. There were
10 races sailed, 6 in A division and 4 in B division.
Racing began on time Sunday morning with winds out of the East at
5-10 knots and some rain showers. Courses were again Windward /
Leewards
once and twice around. There were 12 races sailed, 5 in A division and
7 in B division, completing one rotation. One protest was filed by
Minnesota against Northwestern in race 10A, resulting in Northwestern's
disqualification.
Congratulations to the teams who qualfied for Pre-Nationals: Wisconsin,
Minnesota, St. Thomas, Michigan, and Northwestern. A special thanks to
our judges and to Eagle Lake Yacht Club for allowing us to use their
facility!
