The New York Yacht Club will be hosting an advanced Women's Match Racing Clinic & Regatta from May 10-14, 2010 in Sonars at its Harbour Court clubhouse in Newport, RI. In addition to the USSTAG members, we are looking to add one or more 'up and coming' teams, who may be interested in campaigning to be the U.S. Women's Match Racing representative in the 2016 Olympics, to participate in this event. Coaching will be provided by Dave Perry, David Dellenbaugh, Tony Rey and others during clinic sessions, racing and post-race debriefs. There will be full umpiring led by a core of International Umpires. Details are available at http://nyyc.org/womensmrclinic/.
The regatta portion of this event will serve as the U.S. qualifier for the 2010 Sail for Gold in Weymouth and the 2010 Sail Melbourne regatta. Participants must be women (obviously) and U.S. citizens. Total crew is 4 with a maximum weight of 272 kg. If you are interested in receiving an invitation to participate, please send a cover letter, your resume and information about your crew to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]?subject=particpate%20in%20nyyc%20women's%20 MR%20Clinic%20&%20Regatta> . Emphasis should be given to any keelboat and match racing experience. If you are interested in observing part or all of the clinic, racing or chalk talks, please send an email to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]?subject=interested%20in%20observing%20nyy C%20Women's%20MR%20Clinic%20&%20Regatta> and let us know what days you are interested in attending. We will coordinate the details with you as the event gets closer.
