Sherman Hoyt Trophy
Brown University/Edgewood Yacht club
October 23-24, 2010

Saturday: A great day of racing on the Providence River with West/NW winds
ranging from 7-20 knots and extremely shifty and puffy. Lots of sun and
cool with temps in the 50's. Courses were W3's, W4's, and W5's. Three
protests resulting in a DSQ for Harvard and St. Mary's and one disallowed.
Thanks to our judges George Crocker, Kerry Sullivan, and Leo Berendes. A
number of yellow flags were given on the water as well. Extremely close
racing with Boston College and Roger Williams pulling ahead after 8 races in
A-division and 6 races in B-division.

Sunday: Nothing for breeze and no racing. The event was called at 3pm and
sailors were on their way home. Congratulations to the Boston College
Eagles on winning the 2010 Sherman Hoyt Trophy.

Thanks as well to all the Brown Sailors that helped out: Jacob Tower '11,
Emmett Weeks '14, Tyler Rice '14, and Drew Shea '14, Elizabeth Barry '11,
and Lauren Krumeich '11.

Coverage of the Hoyt can be found at www.sailgroove.org Thanks Chris Love
