The 2011 Rose Bowl Regatta will be held on January 8-9, 2011 with an opportunity to practice (one boat per school) on Friday afternoon January 7th. Boats and Sails are provided for all Out of State College Teams. This event will be held in Long Beach, CA and the College Division will sail off the Belmont Pier at the same site where the 2011 ICSA Semi-Final Championships will be held on April 30-May 1 2011. The Rose Bowl Regatta is the largest combined High School and Collegiate Sailing Competition in the world with up to 60 High School Teams from all over California and up to 30 College Teams from all around the USA. Saturday night features the original College Sailing Night where ICSA member schools and leaders get to pitch their programs and conferences to the deep, broad and consistent talent of the California High Schools and their parents. Alamitos Bay Yacht Club, the US Sailing Center and the beaches and pier of Long Beach provide some awesome spectating and social interaction amongst the large crowds of people there to sail and support their teams.
The Notice of Race and details (hotel deals, etc.) for the 2011 Rose Bowl Regatta will be posted shortly (see it first at www.uscsailing.org). We attempt to accommodate all teams wishing to participate but we do so strictly under the ICSA Intersectional guidelines. Thus teams interested in coming to the event should contact (if you haven't already): 1. Your Conference Intersectional Coordinator; and 2. The ICSA Intersectional Coordinator, Ann Campbell ([email protected]); and 3. Regatta Chairman Mike Segerblom ([email protected]). We will do our best to get you a berth! If you have previously signed up for a berth please confirm with these three people your intention to participate or notify us that your team will be unable to attend so that we can give your berth to someone else!
