Saturday morning saw light winds from the North with a very strong ebb
that made the sailing conditions challenging. Three flights were sailed
and on the last match in the flight the wind shifted from North to the
South on the second beat. The southerly filled in and varied from SW to
SE through the remainder of the day. Four more flights were sailed in
still a strong ebb that made starting extremely challenging and stage
one of the event is complete.

Sunday morning brought a light easterly that fortunately veered to the
SE pretty quickly. A double round robin was run for teams 1-4 and 5-8.
The racing was challenging all day for competitors and race management
alike and the last two flights also saw the strong ebb that we had on
Saturday.

I would like to thank NEISA Umpiring Coordinator Kerry Sullivan and all
the coaches that helped umpire the event. Also, Coast Guard Assistant
Offshore Coach Jason LeBlanc who was on the Race Committee Boat all
weekend and the cadets that volunteered their time to assist in running
the event.

Congratulations to the BUSA team that won their final three matches to
win the 2011 Pine Trophy Match Race Intersectional.
