Day one of the Colgate Open was met with a strong northernly breeze,
sustaining at about 15-17 knots. Races went off smoothly, however dense fog
and mist made sailing a challenge. 6 races in each fleet were completed. As
the rain picked up around 4:00, the Race Committee decided to call the day,
with hopes of better weather for tomorrow.

Although there were many boats capsizing and a handful of DNFs, there were
no serious problems with the sailing conditions. All races sailed were W4s.
Thanks to our safety and RC boats who worked hard all day to ensure safe
and well-run races.

Colgate finished the day in first place with 21 points. Cornell is a near
second with 29. Skidmore is currently 3rd with 45, followed by Syracuse
(48), Hamilton (57), Penn State (57), Columbia (58) and OCC (85).

With no internet in the Yacht Club and tech score being persnickety with our
login information, we have yet to post results online, but we are actively
trying to get our scores posted.
