Day one of the Colgate Open was met with a strong northernly breeze,
sustaining at about 15-17 knots. Races went off smoothly, however dense fog
and mist made sailing a challenge. 6 races in each fleet were completed.
After one of our FJs was damages at the dock, it was removed from the
rotation and from teams were given a bye when they should have been in that
particular boat. As the rain picked up around 4:00, the Race Committee
decided to call the day, with hopes of better weather for tomorrow.

Although there were many boats capsizing and a handful of DNFs, there were
no serious problems with the sailing conditions. All races sailed were W4s.
Thanks to our safety and RC boats who worked hard all day to ensure safe
and well-run races.

Colgate finished the day in first place with 21 points. Cornell is a near
second with 29.

Day 2 started with little to no breeze. Races were delayed until around noon
when an Easternly wind began to pick up. Two teams decided to forgo sailing.
Although air began to fill in, it was shifty throughout the afternoon and
ultimately died back down. We were able to get off 2 races for each
division, which allowed us to end having completed 2 full rotations. Again,
all races sailed were W4s.

The final results were as follows: Colgate, Columbia, Syracuse, Skidmore,
Columbia, Hamilton, Penn State then OCC. (Attached please find a copy of the
results)

With no internet in the Yacht Club and tech score being persnickety with our
login information, we have yet to post results online, but we are actively
trying to get our scores posted.

Thanks to all those who participated!
