Saturday, October 8:
10 races were sailed today. Sailors left the dock in a dying westerly which
eventually died. A SW sea breeze filled in just after 11:00am and built to 8-12
knots. 8 races were sailed in these perfect conditions. The breeze slowly died
and shifted right. Two more races were sailed in this breeze of about 4-6 knots
with larger shifts. We had two general racalls and a few individual recalls.
Meredith Killion and Kerry Sullivan were the judges for the day. They flagged 3
sailors during starts and one at the weather mark for rule 42 violations. 2
Protests were filed which resulted in one being disallowed and one DSQ. Many
thanks to the Niantic Bay Yacht Club and Club Members Ken and Olivia Shluger
and Chris Vann for mark boat duty.
