Beautiful weather today in Tampa Bay. Eight races were completed on Kona windsurfers with four more planned for tomorrow. Winds were North to Northeast all day 8 to 13. With air temperatures in the 70's, sailors enjoyed excellent conditions. Courses were all windward-leeward. First day scores are on Techscore at http://scores.collegesailing.info/f11/icsa-windsurfing-fall-invitational/. Starts were competitive and upwind legs depended on picking the shift and making the lay line with the fewest tacks. Downwind sailing on the windsurfers proved that picking the right angle and speed in the short chop was essential. There were no protests.
