Conditions for Day 1 of the Mendelblatt Team Race regatta hosted by USF St.
Petersburg and Eckerd College were sunny and warm with light but manageable
winds. Sailing was conducted inside Bayboro Harbor. Winds were east at 4-7
knots for the majority of the day, with the exception of a shift to the
northeast in the early afternoon, which then swung back to east by the end
of racing at 4:30 pm.

A slight delay ensued as sailors were treated to a docking of the 71.6
meter long megayacht "Utopia", in town for the Honda Grand Prix event.

Two full rotations were completed, 42 races, using 18 USF FJ's. Four
protests were heard, resulting in one DSQ. Thanks to Eckerd, NY Maritime,
and Salve Regina coaches for hearing the protests.

With a similar forecast for tomorrow, the third rotation will be sailed,
followed by a Final Four round robin.

Current standings (see attached spreadsheet for scoring grid):

USF 11-1
NY Maritime 10-2
Charleston 8-4
Salve Regina 7-5
Eckerd 4-8
Northwestern 1-11
TAMUG 1-11
