Saturday was a cold day on the Severn River, but it was nearly perfect for
team racing in all other accounts. The wind blew from the NW all day at
8-13 knots, allowing PROs Kyle Assad and Brendan Healy and their team of
Midshipmen to run 108 races on two courses, almost completing the 16 team
round robin. No protests were filed on land, because our team of umpires
were out there all day while snow flurries fell, keeping things fair and
honest. A huge thanks goes out to ChUmp Rob Overton and his team of Jeff
Borland, Andrew Cole, Doc Sullivan, Larry Sill, David Clinnin, Scott
Kirwin, Carol Robinson, Joel Labruzetta, Alana O'Reilly, James Allsopp,
Cole Allsopp and Sam Stokes.

Sunday's weather served up more of the same, with cold temperatures and NW
winds allowing for more perfect team racing. The wind was the strongest we
saw all weekend on Sunday morning and the teams had trouble adjusting to
maneuvering in the increased pressure, leading to more fouls than we had
seen earlier. After the round robin was complete, we heard a few protests
before moving into gold and silver round robins. Congratulations to the
Charleston Cougars who sailed well throughout the weekend to claim victory
int he 2013 Graham Hall Team Race.
