This regatta is named in honor of John Jackson GU'03. John was a member if the
Georgetown Sailing Team while he was an undergrad. John was the life of the
team and was a beloved teammate and friend. Shortly after graduation John
passed away in a tragic accident in Chicago. John's teammates asked that
Georgetown run an event each year in his honor. Johns parents and sister Lisa
were in attendance and spoke to the competitors at the skippers meeting.

Saturday - racing started at 10am in a cold NW wind. 10 races were completed
by noon but the wind shut off and didn't fill in again all day. After a
postponement until 4pm the racing was called for the day.

Sunday - a nice SE breeze filled the lagoon at 10am and racing commenced by
1035. The first round robin was completed and teams were split into a final
four and consolation four.

Many thanks to Doc Sullivan and Larry Sill who did a tremendous job umpiring
the races and making sure the event ran smoothly.

Congrats to Stanford for winning the 2013 John Jackson Memorial Team Race.
