draft-gondwana-dkim2-motivation-03 mandates that the SMTP Mail From
command be aligned. That is, that the listed address be the same as in
the rfc5322.From field.
This appears to be derived from DMARC, except that DMARC only mandates
this when SPF is used. The current work seeks to mandate it always. So
it requires both Mail From and From: to be aligned with the (same?)
signature.
Restricting Mail From values restricts where return notices can go.
This is a significant loss of flexibility in email use.
