On the MUA side:

I have to double check this for 5yx responses, but I've seen my Thunderbird not continue when one of the CC addresses were invalid (not accepted by the MSA). Only when corrected or removed from the list, did it continue.

I was able to quickly test this under TBIRD connecting to a test MSA server, and sure enough, it will stop at the first 4yz error:

18:34:36 C: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
18:34:36 S: 250 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Sender ok.
18:34:36 C: RCPT TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
18:34:36 S: 250 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Recipient ok
18:34:36 C: RCPT TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
18:34:36 S: 450 Undeliverable TO address: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
18:34:37 C: QUIT
18:34:37 S: 221 closing connection
18:34:37 ** Completed

I created a black listed address with a 450 response.

The TBIRD MUA issued an popup and put you right back into the editor to make any corrections.

I don't recall if Outlook behaved like this or not. Probably did.
