entirely agree. and you can tell a lot about me by watching the temperature sensors at my house (http://www.cs.utk.edu/~moore/home_temp.html) security is potentially important for any device or service, no matter how trivial it seems. and since you can't rely on network topology to provide security, security has to be implemented - at least partially - by the device itself.
