Currently I'm running the latest version of iFolder server from the openSUSE
Build Service without any major problems
on an openSUSE 10.2 installation (ifolder3-server-svn v3.6.7318.1dl9pf)
Now I want to migrate to a newer server, which runs openSUSE 10.3.
So i installed the same ifolder server version from the openSUSE Build
Service and ran simias-server-setup.
After this, I was able to login to the admin interface, add users and
ifolders, etc.
In short, the system seemed to work
But then I wanted to change the permissions of a user on a particular folder
from readonly to readwrite but it doesn't work.
What I do is the following:
- go to the "iFolders" tab and click on the folder that I want to modify.
- select the checkbox for the user I want to change the permissions for.
- choose "Read Write" in the dropdown box at the bottom of the screen
- click the Set button.
When I click the Set button, the rights for that user are not changed and
are still "ReadOnly"
Additionally the dropdown box for choosing between the different rights
becomes empty !
Something similar happens in the "iFolders" view:
- select the second tab "iFolders in the admin web interface.
- switch to "Orphan" tab -> no iFolders shown (correct, because there are no
orphan folders)
- switch back to "All" tab -> remains empty while it should show all the
"normal" ifolders again.
Moreover, the dropdown box for the search ("Begins With", "Ends With", etc)
becomes empty !
The only way to get back to my ifolders is switching to another view such as
"Users" and then back to "iFolders"
I already turned on debugging, but this doesn't help me much because the
failing system (openSUSE 10.3) is missing
some logging in comparison to the working system (openSUSE 10.2) while I was
expecting some extra errors or exceptions
