the problem is that when running a combined workshop, they'd need someone
to admin with windows machines as well as someone to administer their
linux machine(s). furthermore, its harder to find someone to administer
linux then to find someone to administer windows - with windows, they just
take one of the many that do the various administration courses - there
are far fewer administration courses for linux running around. i know that
a course graduate isn't much, but for these business owners, that's a lot.
also, with windows, they often don't realy admin the machines. they just
reboot them every time they run into a problem, and sometimes have a
support contract with a company for the real tough cases (in which the
support company comes and does the reboot for them ;), or the re-install).
so, we can run such a demo day, but we just need to be able to answer
questions such as "who installs linux in israel?" and "who supports linux
in israel?" and "how do i manage the machine?".
