Will not work one account should be member of all the groups , who and how are you going be selective in your posts , human intervention required who is going to do this ? , what i understand about your proposal in something like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/URL_shortening<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/URL_shortening> of which people are wary even about things like short url , keep it simple if 1) if someone does not like the flurry of mails , subscribe to digest mode. 2) if someone is getting flooded with information since he is subscribed to different mailing list , solution is to keep a watch on the usage pattern for last 30 days or so and unsubscribe from all the list which are irrelevant now. 3) Cross posting can be good or bad depending on the frequency and topic . i am for it and being selective is a good thing. 4) One big mailing list with all the things to discuss in this world including my dog food is not possible. 5) You can have something like feeds to all the mailing list . -Satya -- LUG@IITD - http://lug-iitd.org/Footer
