All it takes is adding two lines (or removing 40 maybe) to modify psyntax to behave like ypsilon. All that it's doing is forcing some (more) libraries to be invoked at certain times. But there are situations in which this is undesirable, and I wouldn't know how/if you can instruct ypsilon to not do these extra invocations.
BTW, obviously there is nothing personal in these debates. I do not really expect you to change the way Ikarus works. At most I will insist for having a section in the Ikarus manual explaining what "import" means, and explaining the portability gotchas.

I still like Ikarus, but it does not mean that I like *all* of it ;-)
