I am facing problem while installing ubuntu 10.10 on a newly purchased

Problem: Screen becomes blank after selecting langauage and press

I can run the live CD.
I can install from wubi(like a windows application)
But I could not install from the CD.

3 GB RAM,
320 GB HDD,
512 MB Dedicated Graphics
ATI graphics
I dont wanna sound rude but ubuntu has some specific issues.. If you are
looking for a cool easy Gnu/Linux distro, not much preferred for Ubuntu
only,then go for Mandriva2010 or PClinuxOS.. both are way too better
than ubuntu in every means..
