Even Oracle, Microsoft provide open source code. Apple provides the code open but it destroys the real essence of having open source (choice and freedom) and also wants to destroy competitiors by unfair means. > The context of my reply was based on the word "worthless" used by Prasanna, > quoted below: > > On Fri, Oct 25, 2013 at 10:31 AM, PrasannaKumar Muralidharan < > [email protected]> wrote: > >> I am not going to use the worthless Apple OS X >> even if they give money to me to use it. It is worthless because the benefits to cost ratio is extremely small. Even if they give money to use the OS there will be hidden charges / things that will make you rely on them, then they will monopolise it to make huge money. Also they are big patent troll company with not much real innovation in technology (apple just markets things as far as I know or even claims they did it even if it was a copy). > I love 'computing' and it is one of the greatest interest in my life. Agreed Microsoft maintains API compatibility to a huge extent but their business strategy of crushing other's business instead of competing is going to affect all. Note: Opinion of others may vary.
