Hi.. You can safely instal Win 98/95 or any other OS even if u have already installed Linux. The only prerequisite is that there must be some space left on ur HDD. If u have some space left (u can check it out using fdisk from within Linux.) u can definitely install the same without affecting ur data in linux. But if whole space is dedicated to linux, then either u need to remove linux and install both linux and windows again after creating proper partitions or u can opt for having another disk where u can install win98/95 or the like without affecting ur data.
see if u have any of these conditions there. but what i understand from ur mail that u have only 1 partition dedicated to linux. so u need to install the oses again. u can install the OSes in any order if u do the things carefully. Other wise its better to install Windows n then linux. u can also see the following link.. http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg03262.html this is a sorta manual type of thing to prepare a multibooting system. best of luck. regards, Abu. ----- Original Message ----- From: jaspal sawhney <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 26 Aug 2003 23:17:42 -0700 (PDT) To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ilugd] how to Dual boot!!URGENT > HI GUYS > i have linux 7.3(only) running on my machine .i wanted > to know how to get windows on to my machine (40 GB > hdd) without disturbing my linux if it is possible .i > had durning installation opted to remove all > partitions on the hard drive nad get a fresh > installation . > if it is not possible then what is the best way to go > abt it ? > i was told that i'll be required to get first windows > on the machine n then get on to linux . > kindly specify what steps shud be taken in detail!! > > thanking u in anticipation > regards > jaspal singh sawhney./ > > __________________________________ > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
