This depends on the chipset and the type of RAM that you install. On
chipsets with dual channel memory controller, you will need to install 2
identical ram modules to get max performence. On most chipsets, having 2
dissimilar RAM modules will have the system running at the speed of the
slower module! So the answer is : it depends on the chipset and the ram
modules used.
