i have about 80 users on imap (version imap-2001a-15)
my problem is that the sever gets very slow probably
due to imap access from the users. at any given point
of time ps -ef|grep imapd shows about 15-20 entries.
YEs. I had faced a similar problem. The reason behind this is mostly the wu imapd server which is not exactly the best one available. If you can create maildirs instead of mboxes for all the users, and can ask your MTA/MDA to deliver to maildirs instead, you will get a great gain of performance by usig the courier-imap server instead.
