If your PC cannot resolve the hostname, it might be a problem with your DNS settings. Do a "dig google.com" and see that the you get some reply from the DNS and not some error like server timeout etc.


Also try pinging 216.239.37.99 (which is google). If you have set things correctly, it might be a problem from the ISP's end.

Which DSL connection are you using ? How is the speed and the $$ charged ?
