i am new to linux as well as to computer. However since four years of association with a desktop pc with windows98 i knew nothing about the real pc.after being introduced to rhl-8, i am just begining to love my pc. my problem began with my daughter's school teaching programming language "basic", which she is unable run with rhl-8. i downloaded wine 20040716 and installed on my desktop. but when i try to run any dos or windows program with wine or wineconsole, the following message pops out._"err: module: load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L"x11drv.dll": libXv.so1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory wine: Couldnot load graphics driver 'x11drv'. Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly."
_ i find my x is up and running and $DISPLAY set to 0 . i request to kindly help me to fix this and save me from migrating again to windows.
if there is any other way out to run "basic.exe" in linux
please let me know.
