Dear Administrator,

Request an apology from Abhijit Menon-Sen, for using such a language towards the end of digest no. 14. How can he ASSUME of what I thought and wrote in the program. I have been programming in MS-technologies and because of my perseverance the whole office of mine has migrated to linux platform. (Mr. vivek khurana knows about this) If people like Abhijit are posting replies, then I believe Linux user group - Delhi will be of no help in any future queries. very disgusting reply indeed.....

Regards
Rajesh

Nope, Although the language used by Abhijit may sound too harsh, but I support whole heartedly on his view-point.

I guess, we are professionals in our respective fields, and recognise that time is precious. So it makes sense, that if we want help from some other professional (that too free) than we make concious efforts to explain :
1. what the problem is,
2. what was the expected output,
3. what output we are getting, and
4. what efforts have we made to solve our problem.

I guess the questioner can put all of this in one single mail. The questioner has to recognise that the person who is replying is putting his precious time to read and answer your mail. His sending chains of mails on asking points 2 - 4 above wastes precious time & effort.

Rajesh, if you have been instrumental in spreading linux in your office, was it good to you and your company or /US/ ? Should we be grateful to you for this? Does that give you the right to avoid basic etiquettes of posting on a mailing list. Agreed Abhijit used strong words.

Kapil

1. Google: Feel free to Google before posting. http://www.google.com

2. HOWTO'S : Latest Howto documents are available http://www.tldp.org . Newbies are requested to take a look. You will find solutions to most of your problems there

3. Posting: I suggest the group members to avoid top posting, as this pushes the original question to the bottom. While any body would prefer to have the main question at the top, and subsequent replies added to the bottom, so that it is easy to comprehend the flow of information. So please stick to bottom posting.
