Greetings there, i have a DSL G604T adsl router. i wanted to host a service from my desktop(192.168.1.2) port 8080 thru the router(192.168.1.1:8080) over the internet. I have been trying this for long, but i am not getting thru. I tried different port numbers(9999),assuming 8080 might be blocked by my isp(mtnl broadband), but i could not get connected. I am using mozilla-firefox on mandriva and i get a "The connection was refused when attempting to contact http://192.168.1.1:9999" I have completely disabled my os firewall. Also when i disabled the routers firewall and NAT service, i was unable to access any website. So i had to turn the routers firewall and NAT service and then try again, still no success.
My router specefic details are as follows: Router:DLINK DSL G604T The version of the firmware is:V1.00B02T02.EU.20050815 i have added the rule in Advanced>Port Forwading>User as: LAN IP:192.168.1.2 ruleName:testing protocol:tcp startPort:9999 endPort:9999 portMap:8080 i also 'applied' the rule(acc to router's terminology) and tried couple of reboots(system and router). Anyone with the same router and currently hosting some service from your system, kindly help. thanks, rohit NAMASTE, i honour the spirit in you which is also in me. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````` http://www.geocities.com/rohitsz2 http://rohitsz.blogspot.com --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
