Do these service-providers help set that up too? / Hi, Since this is an ILUG, I will start with the premise that you need a broadband connection and you will be connecting to the Internet from a Wi-Fi enabled *Linux* laptop/PC. My personal experience with MTNL's Tri-Band has surpassed all expectations. I am on a 256Kbps unlimited connection @ Rs 999/-. I have a Dlink 502-T Adsl router (provided by MTNL) and a D-Link 2100 Wi-Fi AP (i bought this). To this setup connect 3 computers (2 laptops and 1 desktop). The desktop runs Win2k/Debian etch and one laptop runs Ubuntu 7.04 and the other runs Windoze XP Pro (wife's).
The Ubuntu Laptop (Toshiba with Intel 3945 wireless) connects to the Internet flawlessly. Please steer clear of Sify and Tata Indicom DSL if you can help it.
