Forget the official Sify client for Linux. I have wasted a considerable percentage of my youth trying to get that damn script to work. No I kid you not. I later found this piece of C code, called "Super Sify" or something, written by a guy called "Bharat Bhushan" or something, which compiled and seemed to work well (I use the term "work well" loosely, out of consideration for the fact that for a mere piece of software, written by mortals, trying to squeeze entire bytes out of the constipated Sify lines is an impossible task to begin with). Google for "Sify Linux clients" for more up to date information. Or try using the Official Mac client for Sify. It's written in Java and is actually cross platform. Though I would recommend you forget all I said in the previous paragraph and ditch Sify altogether for a semi decent broadband connection. Seriously. You can thank me later. -- -- Anupam _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Next Event: http://freed.in - September 28-29, 2007 Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/
